The Academy supports wholeheartedly the Negro College Fund's position that a mind is
indeed a terrible thing to waste. The Academy, through its global reach is particularly suited to help financially in need
schools. Charged with the education of the very young, these schools are essentially unable to provide education
to many who are helpless to help themselves either by financial circumstances or other environmental factors.
As
part of our own vision, the Academy targets deserving elementary schools in need -- Those who provide an outstanding
education to the under-served in the United States and throughout the world.
The Academy's Current Effort
The Academy has identified several schools in North America and on other continents to assist.
For example, in one of the poorest sections of Tampa, Florida, USA. a small Catholic school has provided exceptional education
to children unable to afford exceptional private education for generations. Subject to efforts by developers and others
to remove it from the inner-city, the school and local leaders have clung tenaciously to the idea that this school is a way
out and a way up for many youth who would otherwise never have the chance an education of this calibre can provide.
Most all the enrolled children and those waiting to get in are in need of financial assistance for this exceptional
private school in the heart of the inner city. Almost the entire student body is on scholarship. The Academy
not only is committed to assisting this fine, outstanding school with more scholarships for deserving
students, but also seeks to help protect its integrity by assisting in funding efforts to keep the
school from becoming an inner city casualty.
